Connect a wallet and you immediately get 35 virtual starter entities. Merge any two — starters or previously minted hybrids — and you mint a genuinely new creature NFT on Ethereum.
Three pieces make that work honestly rather than cosmetically:
- Google Gemini generates a unique image and description for every hybrid, so no two mints look alike.
- Chainlink VRF supplies verifiable randomness for rarity, so the outcome is provably fair rather than “trust the server”.
- IPFS stores metadata and images, so the NFT doesn’t quietly break when a backend goes away.
This one came out of the work behind my Ethereum Builder certificate, and it’s the project where I learned how much of Web3 engineering is really about deciding what genuinely needs to be on-chain.
